Professor Cheng Xinsheng of Nankai University lectured at the Business School

On the morning of November 12th, Professor Cheng Xinsheng, deputy editor-in-chief of Nankai Management Review and doctoral supervisor of Nankai University, was invited to give an academic report entitled "Topic selection and Achievement transformation of Scientific Research Projects" in the conference room 201 of Business School. The lecture was presided over by Li Zhiqiang, deputy dean of the Business school, and attended by Li Yao, Secretary and director of the Marketing Department party Branch, as well as some teachers and students.

First of all, On behalf of all members of the business school, Li Zhiqiang extended a warm welcome to Professor Cheng Xinsheng and made a brief introduction of his academic achievements and research fields.

Cheng Shared his feelings about editing management journals. Starting from the seven basic principles of thesis writing, which are topic in speech, rational in narration, orderly in analysis, new in proposition, method in research, evidence in argumentation and useful in conclusion, he described the importance of inspiration, practice and interdisciplinary learning in the process of thesis writing. Then, Professor Cheng listed several common problems in academic papers. He stressed that it was necessary to read a large number of classical literature and pay attention to the articles of contemporary young talents, so as to create excellent academic papers with the characteristics of The Times and clear and original ideas. Then, he further analyzed the common problems he encountered in the process of reviewing manuscripts from the perspectives of research method and design, causal relationship and presentation and evidence, so as to help teachers and students present to avoid such problems in the writing process. At last, he introduced the aim, editorial phalanx and the distribution of contributing topics of nankai Management Review, and encouraged students and teachers present to contribute actively.

At the end of the lecture, the teachers and students actively asked Cheng for questions related to the paper, and Cheng answered them one by one, giving his own unique opinions, which benefited everyone.

Cheng Xinsheng won warm applause from the audience with his profound knowledge and humorous speech. The whole lecture was lively in atmosphere and rich in content, which inspired us a lot in academic research. Through this academic report, the attending teachers and students have a clearer understanding of high-quality academic research results, which is helpful to further improve the writing ability and level of our teachers and students, and then promote the development process of our related scientific research work.
